The Reverend's Wife by Kimberla Lawson Roby
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I have long been a fan of Kimberla Lawson Roby and her Curtis Black series. She has a very straight-forward, easy-going writing style with relatable and believable characters. The last two books I read in the series focused on Curtis' daughter Alicia.
This one the focus is back on Curtis and his wife Charlotte. As I read, I realized that I hadn't read the previous book Love, Honor, and Betray. A quick summary through dialogue was given in this book and I was glad to see I hadn't missed anything important. Although I do still enjoy this series, I have to say it is starting to get a bit redundant. I'm pretty sure everything that happened in this one has happened in some other form in one of the earlier books. I have already placed the next book in the series A House Divided on my TBR list, however I'm sure it, too, will be more of the same.
